Amaryllis Red All Amaryllis can be grown indoors. .either in soil or a growing medium such as clay pebbles or purely in a vase with water.  If the bulb is to be required to flower on a second season, a good flowering nutrient, such as ionic bloom, is recommended.  The bulb must be kept dry during the winter or dormant months.  They grow up to a height of 3 ft depending n Varity and will usually have 2 stems with 3 large flower heads at top. various
